Designing for unity
Vahid (an Arabic word meaning unity) is a literary magazine created by Nineteen Months that showcases creative writing and artistic expressions.
The design
Working closely with Vahid's editor, I designed a branding and style for the magazine that borrows aesthetics from publications like Kinfolk, The Great Discontent, Notions, and Onkul.
Vahid is filled with poems, stories, and art and my layouts were designed for both digital and physical versions.
The process
With each edition, we subtly improve and redefine the content and design. For Issue 02, for example, I refined Vahid's minimalist aesthetic to give both the written and visual submissions more space to breathe.
