Encapsulating longing and loneliness
Robert Gillies is a musician from Scotland living in California. Working closely with Robert, I developed an album concept that conveyed many of the themes in his songs: homesickness, nostalgia, feeling lost, separation and distance.
The design
Designs for The Distance were inspired by Japanese minimalism and the foggy images of Robert's homeland. I created the limited release EP and the full album, complete with foldout poster and lyrics sheet.
